Dog lovers share endless compassion

I am so proud of Brother Wolf and grateful beyond words for the love and companionship of Taka & Rio, my Border Collie/Husky twins. They were two of seven puppies thrown in the trash in the middle of winter in the high mountains of Tennessee. Almost beyond hope, they were rescued and taken in by Brother Wolf. The work of caring for so many dogs may seem endless, yet thankfully, so is the supply of Love and Compassion!

One of Mahatma Gandhi’s most famous quotes says, “The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” In Asheville and beyond these words are taken to heart. The positive resonance of the No Kill goal can be felt in the surrounding communities of Western North Carolina where dog owners, dog trainers and animal lovers of all kind share in this effort to be a model community for animal welfare.
